Installation of Additional A Post Pillar

Before undertaking this work ensure you have all the necessary resources to complete the task; -

1 Only use tube provided by Bowler Off Road Ltd. Substitution with other tube will
make the homologation null and void.

2 A welder who is competent in welding tube in a confined area must carry out the welding.
Also the welding machine used must be capable to produce a fully penetrated weld.

3 Before attempting to weld the tube ensure the powder coating is removed down to bare
metal in the area to be welded. Failure to remove the coating will result in a poor weld.


Instruction
1 Protect the windscreen, bodywork and interior from the grinding and welding sparks.
Also, It may be easier to remove the doors and seats from the car before carrying out the work.

2 Familiarise yourself with the position the tube needs to be fitted from the attached photographs.

3 Offer the tube into position and mark the area where the tube will be welded to the vehicle.

4 Remove the powder coating in the area to be welded. Do not grind into the tube!

5 Offer the tube into position and if necessary grind the end of the new tube to fit closely to the tube of the vehicle.

6 When the new tube is a good fit in position then tack weld in position,
   check and then weld all round with a full penetration weld both ends of the tube.

7 Allow to cool, then clean around the weld area.

8 Apply primer and then when dry apply finish coat..

9 Remove all protective material from the car and refit the doors and seats, if removed.

10 Complete section 'B' on page 7 of the new Rollcage Certificate to comply with FIA regulations.

Replace the old certificate with the new certificate and keep it with the rest of the car paperwork as you will need it to pass the technical checks.
