Dakar Rally FIA Technical Check

Following the latest amendments to the technical regulations by the FIA and from experience gained since the 2005 Dakar Rally the following points should be considered;-

Points from 2005 Dakar Rally. (not applicable to cars built from 01/01/05)

3 The hose clips of the idle control system and the air intake pipework need to be drilled to allow seals to be fitted.
Note;- this is in line with the ASO technical note issued before the 2005 Dakar.
At least two of the bolts, which secure the throttle body to the inlet manifold, must also have their heads drilled to accept sealing wire.
Also the cylinder heads and engine block must have holes, which can have a wire seal attached. The cylinder block has an existing hole in a lug on the left hand side towards the front of the engine, below the cylinder head.
